Polly the Maid
Ello there, I’m Polly. I used to work as a maid for Dr. Henry Jekyll, a proper posh bloke into science and medicine. But I saw somethin’ so awful during my time there that it’s stuck with me like glue.
One night, I was goin’ about my business when I clocked a geezer visitin’ Dr. Jekyll’s gaff. Turned out to be that nutter Edward Hyde. Little did I know that this fella’s visit would change my life forever. Later that same night, I heard a load of racket outside and saw Hyde bashin’ a poor chap with Dr. Jekyll’s cane. I was so scared I couldn’t move or make a peep.
But when I came to my senses, I ran straight to the bobbies to report the crime. My testimony was what led to the discovery of Hyde’s true identity and Dr. Jekyll’s dark secrets.
That night still gives me the heebie-jeebies, and I often wonder what would’ve happened if I’d done things differently. But I know I did what I had to do, and I hope it helped bring justice to the victims of those two villains.
