Cassius
I am Cassius, a shrewd and manipulative Roman. Disgusted by Caesar’s rise to power, I conspire with like-minded individuals to bring him down. With calculated persuasion and a burning desire for a return to the republic, I sway Brutus and others to join our cause. I see myself as the true defender of Rome’s freedom, willing to go to any lengths to rid our city of Caesar’s tyranny.
Octavius Caesar
I am Octavius Caesar, the adopted heir of Julius Caesar. Filled with ambition and determination, I emerge as a formidable force in the aftermath of my uncle’s assassination. With a strategic mind and unwavering resolve, I navigate the treacherous political landscape, aiming to secure my place as the ruler of Rome and fulfill Caesar’s vision for the empire.

I am Portia, wife of Brutus. Strong-willed and devoted, I share in my husband’s struggles and concerns. With an insatiable desire for his trust and involvement, I confront Brutus, demanding to be included in his secretive plans. My love for him and my understanding of the weight he carries make me an unwavering supporter, willing to endure any hardship to stand by his side..
Decius Brutus
I am Decius Brutus, a member of the conspiracy against Julius Caesar. Cunning and persuasive, I am chosen to convince Caesar to attend the Senate on the day of his assassination. With skillful manipulation, I reinterpret Calpurnia’s dreams and appeal to Caesar’s ambition, swaying him to disregard the warnings and sealing his tragic fate.
Cinna
I am Cinna, a conspirator against Julius Caesar. Driven by dissatisfaction and a longing for a different Rome, I join Cassius and Brutus in their plot to remove Caesar from power. Although a lesser-known figure, my dedication to the cause is unwavering. Tragically, I become the target of a vengeful mob who mistake me for another Cinna, a poet with the same name. In an act of misguided violence, I am brutally killed, a casualty of the chaotic and tumultuous times in which I find myself entangled.
Lepidus
I am Lepidus, a Roman general and member of the triumvirate alongside Mark Antony and Octavius Caesar. While not as prominent as my powerful counterparts, I bring military expertise and a sense of stability to our alliance. Though loyal to our cause, I am often overshadowed by Antony’s influence. My strategic thinking and practicality serve as valuable assets as we navigate the post-assassination power struggles. However, my limited political influence and vulnerability to manipulation make me a secondary figure in the unfolding events, ultimately playing a lesser role in shaping Rome’s future.
Soothsayer
I am the Soothsayer, a fortune-teller in ancient Rome. Gifted with visions and the ability to interpret omens, I possess an understanding of the mysterious forces that shape our world. In my encounter with Julius Caesar, I deliver a haunting warning: “Beware the Ides of March.” With a sense of foreboding, I urge Caesar to heed my words and be wary of impending danger. Though my appearance in the play is brief, my prophetic message serves as a reminder of the uncertain nature of fate and the consequences that await those who ignore the signs of destiny.us.
Artemidorus
I am Artemidorus, a teacher and loyal supporter of Julius Caesar. Driven by my devotion to Caesar and my concern for his well-being, I compose a letter warning him of the conspiracy against him. With a sense of urgency, I attempt to deliver the letter to Caesar, hoping to prevent his assassination. Despite my efforts to protect him, circumstances prevent me from reaching him in time. Nevertheless, I play a small but significant role in the play, representing the genuine concern and loyalty of those who wished to save Caesar from his tragic fate.
Flavius and Marullus
We are Flavius and Marullus, tribunes and loyal supporters of the Roman Republic. Fierce defenders of tradition and wary of Caesar’s growing power, we express our disdain for the citizens who have quickly shifted their allegiance to Caesar. With a sense of duty, we remove decorations from Caesar’s statues, symbolically rejecting his newfound popularity. However, our actions do not go unnoticed, and we are silenced and stripped of our positions by those aligned with Caesar. While our roles are brief, we represent the voice of those who question the rise of a single individual’s authority and seek to uphold the principles of the republic.
Lucius
I am Lucius, a loyal servant and companion to Brutus. Devoted and diligent, I am entrusted with important tasks and responsibilities by my master. I attend to Brutus’s needs, offering support and assistance in his endeavors. As a trusted confidant, I witness firsthand the internal struggles and decisions that shape the course of events in “Julius Caesar.” Though I may have limited dialogue or agency, my unwavering loyalty and dedication contribute to the portrayal of the bonds between master and servant, illustrating the values of honor and trust in Roman society.
